2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide Directly

• Your first name (entered during onboarding)
• Text inputs you enter into SPARQ's four modes (Interest Graph answers, Hyperfocus captures, Executive Function conversations, and Communication Translator messages)
• Subscription and payment information (processed by Apple App Store or Google Play — we do not store payment card data)

Information Collected Automatically

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• App usage patterns and feature interactions (anonymized)
• Crash reports and performance diagnostics
• IP address (used for security and fraud prevention only)

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your full name, address, or government ID
• We do not collect health or medical data
• We do not track your location
• We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone
• We do not sell your data to advertisers — SPARQ is ad-free

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the SPARQ app experience
• To process your subscription and manage account access
• To personalize AI responses within the app using your session data
• To diagnose technical issues and improve app stability
• To respond to support requests you initiate
• To comply with legal obligations

4. AI Processing & Anthropic

SPARQ uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power its four modes. When you interact with any AI feature, your text inputs are transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing. This transmission is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.

5. Data Storage & Retention

SPARQ stores your session preferences and in-app memory locally on your device. We do not maintain a server-side database of your conversation history. When you delete the app, locally stored data is removed from your device.

Subscription status and account identifiers are retained for as long as your subscription is active, and for up to 90 days after cancellation for dispute resolution purposes.

6. Subscriptions & Purchases

SPARQ offers a free tier and a paid subscription ("SPARQ Pro"). Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not process payments directly and do not store your payment information.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device's App Store or Google Play account settings
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their respective refund policies
• Free trial periods, if offered, will convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends

7. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Anthropic: AI input text for API processing (see Section 4)
• Apple / Google: Subscription and purchase verification
• Service providers: Analytics and crash reporting tools operating under confidentiality agreements
• Legal compliance: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights

8. Your Rights (CCPA — California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• Right to Know: Request disclosure of the personal information we collect, use, and share
• Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions
• Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information, so no opt-out is required
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

9. Children's Privacy

SPARQ is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete such information.

10. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), secure API authentication, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you not to share sensitive personal information through the app.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of SPARQ after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
